A UK community campaign
A community-led project to identify and contact restaurants across the UK that still sell foie gras — and to encourage them to take it off the menu.
About the project
We collect data into a single, carefully maintained database. Each entry tracks whether a restaurant sells foie gras and what action is needed next — from first contact to follow-up.
Our aim is simple: to end the sale of foie gras in UK restaurants through steady, community-led pressure and constructive dialogue with the people who run them.
Why it matters
Foie gras is produced through gavage — the force-feeding of ducks and geese via a tube inserted into the throat, until the liver swells to many times its natural size.
Foie gras production is banned in the UK on welfare grounds, yet restaurants still import and serve it.
The overwhelming majority of the British public oppose the sale of foie gras.
Many restaurants have removed foie gras after being approached — often with a simple, polite request.
Focused, respectful engagement at the venue level is one of the most effective tools we have.
The tracker
A record of UK restaurants known to sell foie gras, kept up to date by our volunteers, with the current recommended action alongside each one.
